Keywords
Keywords are the unique and special words that are related to the content of a website or blog. It has a strong significance or importance for the content of the website or blog. We can say that the content is directly or indirectly associated with the keyword. If you look at blogging or online marketing, keywords play as an important factor in SEO that can affect the website or blog’s ranking in the search engine. Actually search engine provides the results in respond to those special keywords you searched for. The search engine shows up thousands of blogs or websites but only those results are shown in the first page or top 10 that has a fair connection with the searched keywords. Just for example, if I write a blog about Blogging. So few keywords for the content of the blog are:
SEO, Blog, Blogger, Traffic, Blogger etc.
Now, if I will include such good keywords in the content of my blog, it will get great ranking in the search engine too. So, using proper keywords can make things work for you.
Long Tail Keywords
There is one more thing related to Keywords, i.e. Long Tail Keywords. Let me explain it
Long Tail Keywords are those which, when combined with a few other keywords, make a meaningful sentence. These types of keywords are also equally important when we talk about SEO. Have you seen those suggestions that shows up whenever you search on a search engine like Google? You see these suggestions are either a short sentence like a long tail keyword or a single keyword. Here are some examples:
SEO Guide for Beginners, How to make a paper boat, SEO Guide for Beginners, How to use WordPress etc.
Meta Description
Meta Description is the description of the post or blog’s page, that becomes visible under the link in the search engine and post Title. It plays a key role in SEO. This comprises of about 156 characters. The results that perfectly resembles and match the query searched by the user ranks high in the search engine. If it would contain best keywords as well as define your page in short, it would be a plus point to the SEO. In WordPress, there is an available option to set your Meta Description for homepage and for other individual blog posts.With some fine plugins you can add meta description easily.
Backlinks
Backlinks are the links of your web pages on other websites or blogs. These links when clicked takes the user to your website or blog’s content. It helps in getting referral traffic. Referral Traffic is the traffic which a website or blog can get from other website or blogs. They play a vital role in search engine optimization. Some usually believe that a blog or website having more number of quality backlinks ranks higher in the search engine. Have you noticed that the word Quality Backlinks is used here. Actually, Quality backlinks are the backlinks from only useful and good blogs or websites. Backlinks are also the reason for quick indexing of website or blog’s latest update in the search engine.
Internal Linking
If you include links of your some other website or blog’s pages or post in a particular post or page, then you can say that you have interlinked your blog’s content. There are two major benefits of the internal linking – one is from SEO point of view and other is the convenience. Now, we understand about SEO but what about Convenience? Let say, if in a particular blog post, you have added links to other blog posts which may help your readers as suggestions to read, it would be easy and convenience for your readers. Hence, it also brings direct traffic for you.
