Last month we heard by Facebook CEO’s Mark Zuckerberg that ‘Not each and every moment is a good moment. It is important to give people more options than just ‘like'” to help express empathy and sympathy’. Zuckerberg’s hinted that his site was looking to expand the Like button, making a way for facebook users to communicate that they were upset by the news. The site was exploring ways for users to communicate that they were upset without being clearly negative.

So, finally Facebook feels about the request and unveiled “dislike” button, but gives a certain twist. Yes, that is right rather than using simple thumbs-down ‘dislike’ button, Facebook is testing a group of six additional emojis that represent “Love”, “Wow”, “Yay”, “Haha”, “Sad” and “Angry”.

Emojis represents like: “Loves” it with a big red heart, finds it “Funny”, open-mouthed, laughing mirth with squinty-eyed, and surprising with open-mouthed “Wow-ness” or with one-tear coming down the cheek ‘Sadness’ or with orange-forehead glowering ‘MADNESS’!!

According to a posting Mark Zuckerberg made on his Facebook page, the emojis are shown reactions that line up next to the just like, signifying Love, Yay, Haha, Wow, Sad and Angry. He said that Facebook team has spent a lot of time on thinking about the best way to give you the best options for expressing yourself, with keeping the experience simple and respectful.

The new emojis symbols are activated by long pressing on the like button; users will then have the option to pick one of a number of facial expressions of emojis. Facebook has been working on a solution to the like button suspense ever since it introduced it and Mark Zuckerberg has repeatedly said that the company will eventually found a solution.

Facebook’s way of doing that seems to be a series of expressive face reactions, rather than exactly reproduce the Like button. That button is still available, but the new buttons also sit alongside with the regular thumbs up as extra options.

The site will firstly start rolling out the feature in Ireland and Spain as a test. These countries have been chosen because they are relatively closed groups. Including Spain will allow the site to try out that how the emojis will work for non-English users, according to Techcrunch. If the emojis button are rolled out to a users feed, then there will be no way of turning them off.
