This industry has come out as an asset to the economy of India, in recent years. With the growth and advancement in technology, this industry has built up itself compatible, with newest innovations. If you see in the late 90’s, this industry was not very common in India, but with the growth in innovation and technology in India and owing to the fact that it was assisted and supported by global factors, this industry has boomed.

Now, India has become one of the largest creator of IT jobs capitals generating 2.5 million jobs. The youth is attracted to this industry because it offers high perks and has a bright future. Moreover, cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata etc. have emerged as the major IT capitals in India. The major exporter of IT services is the Bangalore city which is the silicon valley of India. Different IT parks have developed in India and it’s still growing speedily. If you talk about careers in these IT sectors, few top most companies of India are Infosys, Tata consultancy services, Wipro, Cognizant and HCL.

Talking about employment, this sector has made a great contribution, in India. Freshers who have completed their engineering are hired or employed in this IT sector. This industry is developing and growing faster than any other Indian industry and it sustains the potential to build up the country, a global IT superpower.

If we look at the future facet of this industry, we can be sure that this IT boom is not going to subside any time soon. Today, India has a rapidly growing IT sector, with millions of well qualified engineers, to fuel its growing needs. IT has developed and spread its root from the silicon valley, Bangalore to other cities and is connecting India with the world. India always has a plus point of a dedicated workforce, who can communicate in English. This provides them a benefit over China, but now China is also taking corrective measures to reduce this void.

India is quite weak when you look at it as a manufacturing hub. However, with the change in the policy reforms by the new government and an initiative Make in India will change the situation in the coming years. Innovation is the key to progress and development in this field. As development and research go hand in hand, it’s very important for India to improve research and skills, which will offer a further encouragement to the IT sector.
